Such gorgeous Iittala Kastehelmi salad plates in the turquoise (or sea blue) color.
***The turquoise color has been out of production for a while, making the vintage plates highly collectible.***
Designer and Origin: They were designed by Finnish designer Oiva Toikka in 1964 and produced in Finland.
The "Kastehelmi" name means "dewdrop" in Finnish, and the design, featuring a spherical relief pattern of small bubbles, was inspired by morning dewdrops glistening in the sunlight. Toikka used the pattern to cleverly hide the joins from the glass molds.
The Kastehelmi series was originally produced between 1964 and 1988 and then re-issued in 2010.
